West Ham have had an offer for Rangers starlet Kai Kennedy rejected.

The Hammers want to lure the talented teenager to England having tracked the winger for months.

The Premier League club have firmed up their interest with an offer in the region of £600,000, but the bid has been rebuffed by the Scottish champions.

The 19-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Inverness Caley Thistle and Raith Rovers, signed a new deal at Ibrox at the start of this year to keep him at the club until 2023.

The Scotland youth international has acknowledged he is flattered by the prospect of joining West Ham.

‘It is extremely flattering that West Ham have made offers for me and it would be a great opportunity to be able to work with a top manager such as David Moyes, but I am a Rangers player until I am told otherwise,’ said Kennedy.

Kennedy’s agent, Paul Tait, confirmed West Ham’s interest in the attacker along with a number of other clubs.

‘West Ham are very keen on Kai and they have shown that in their offers to Rangers,’ said Tait.

‘There are a lot of clubs interested in Kai and we will have to wait and see what Rangers decide to do with him.’
