Real Madrid ‘will consider offers for Raphael Varane in the summer’ with LaLiga champions eyeing transfer window as ‘last opportunity’ to sell £61m star defender
- Raphael Varane has been a key member of the Real Madrid defence since 2015
- But the France World Cup winner enters the final year of his deal in the summer
- Spanish outlet AS report negotiations to extend his deal have ‘not been settled’
- Madrid want to recoup all of his market value, which stands at £61million
Real Madrid will listen to offers for centre-back Raphael Varane in the summer if the hitches to contract extension negotiations continue, according to reports in Spain.
The World Cup winner has formed a solid partnership with captain Sergio Ramos at the heart of the Madrid defence since 2015 but enters the final 12 months of his contract in June.
But AS report that talks to extend his deal with Zinedine Zidane’s LaLiga champions have ‘not been settled’, leading the club to be open to offers from other clubs should the present situation continue.

Los Blancos view the summer window as ‘the last opportunity’ to try and recoup his market value of £61million (€70m), the report adds.
This is not the first time time Varane – who signed his last deal at the club in 2017 – has been linked with a move away, with the 27-year-old considering a transfer in early 2019 before the return of compatriot Zidane at the helm.
Both Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain held an interest in the defender at that time and a report from MARCA earlier this month claimed those two European giants – as well as Chelsea and Juventus – would be interested this time around too.
Varane – who made his 350th appearance for Madrid in their Champions League last-16 first-leg win at Atalanta in midweek – could therefore hand the Spanish giants a double blow, with Ramos’ future also incredibly uncertain.

Spanish journalist Josep Pedrerol claimed earlier this month there is no way back for the 34-year-old at the Santiago Bernabeu after a breakdown in contract talks with Madrid, and United as well as PSG have once more been linked.
France international Varane joined Madrid from French outfit Lens in 2011, and has won three LaLiga crowns and four Champions League titles since his transfer.
But should he depart, Madrid could move for Bayern Munich’s David Alaba, who has been heavily linked and has confirmed he will be leaving the Allianz Arena as a free agent this summer.
