A thrilling night at Ibrox Park saw Rangers hammer a courageous Antwerp side 5-2 to progress 9-5 on aggregate to the Europa League round of 16.
Things began perfectly for Steven Gerrard’s men when Alfredo Morelos put Rangers ahead in the ninth minute. Antwerp responded in kind just past the half-hour mark when Israeli midfielder Lior Rafaelov slotted in from the left side of the box to equalise.
Rangers regained the lead immediately in the second half through Nathan Patterson before Ryan Kent, who assisted Morelos’ opener, was repaid in kind by the striker who laid off for him to put the Gers two goals ahead.

Antwerp refused to lie down, however, and pulled the deficit back to one goal just two minutes later through Didier Lamkel Ze. However Rangers sealed the win when Maxime Le Marchand brought Morelos down in the area.
Borna Barisic converted the penalty to put Rangers 4-2, before the home side won another penalty in stoppage time. Cedric Itten scored to make it a very comfortable victory in the end.
