For Bostock, who appeared in the Crystal Palace first-team when aged just 15, to join Charlton, his season-long loan at Forest would have had to be cancelled – which requires the co-operation of all parties.
Bostock, 28, has made just five appearances for Forest in all competitions, the last of which was in the 4-0 win at QPR in the Championship in November.
Charlton were keen to bring him back to south London as they look to preserve their place in the Championship following promotion last season.
