Burnley have held talks over a £7million deal for Bristol City midfielder Josh Brownhill, 24.
Brownhill has impressed in the Championship this season for Bristol City, who are chasing promotion to the Premier League – they currently sit just one point behind the play-off places.
The Englishman has been a mainstay in the heart of midfield for the Robins so far this campaign, scoring five goals and producing two assists in 26 matches.

Manager Sean Dyche also had an interest in Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher who has been on loan at Charlton.
He is likely to be recalled and sent out on another loan with West Brom, Swansea and Norwich keen.
The 19-year-old has netted six times and created three assists in 25 Championship matches this term.
Dyche is desperate to bolster his options in midfield following three straight defeats in the Premier League, leaving the Clarets in a dangerous position.
Burnley currently sit 15th in the English top-flight, just four points above the relegation zone following their crushing 3-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, currently on loan at Charlton, is also on the radar of Burnley
